Israel Cerda
Israel Cerda is a Security Operations Lead at Fortra, where he mentors analysts, investigates phishing threats, analyzes malware, and contributes to the company’s Cloud Email Protection platform. He joined Fortra in late 2023, beginning on the Credential Theft Monitoring team before moving to Suspicious Email Analysis and later stepping into his current leadership role.
With a background in IT service and systems administration at major consulting firms, Israel brings a deep technical foundation to his work in threat detection and response. He has a strong focus on malware research, reverse engineering, and understanding attacker techniques across phishing sites, malicious extensions, and real-world malware samples.
Israel is a proponent of security through transparency, embedding security into design, and raising cybersecurity awareness for all users—especially those most often targeted by online threats.
