HelpSystems (now Fortra) Achieves Amazon Linux 2 Ready Designation

Posted on April 21, 2020 | Infrastructure and Data Protection

MINNEAPOLIS (April 21, 2020)—Fortra announced today that it has achieved the Amazon Linux 2 Ready designation, part of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Service Ready Program. This designation recognizes that Fortra Powertech Antivirus has been validated to run on and support Amazon Linux 2.

Achieving the Amazon Linux 2 Ready designation differentiates Fortra as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member by offering the Powertech Antivirus product, which runs on Amazon Linux 2 and is fully supported for AWS customers. Powertech Antivirus offers customers the protection of a commercial-grade scan engine, while supporting the specific features of each operating system. By protecting servers running Linux, AIX, and IBM i from a comprehensive set of viruses, worms, and malware threats, this powerful solution helps safeguard an organization’s infrastructure, not just its workstations.

As an AWS Service Ready Partner, Fortra has demonstrated success by building a product that integrates with AWS services, helping AWS customers evaluate and use their technology productively, at scale, and with varying levels of complexity.

“Fortra is thrilled to achieve AWS Service Ready status,” said Brian Wenngatz, General Manager, Cyberthreat Solutions, Fortra. “Our team is dedicated to helping companies realize their technology goals by leveraging the agility, breadth of services, and pace of innovation that AWS provides.”

To support the seamless integration and deployment of these solutions, AWS established the AWS Service Ready Program to help customers identify products integrated with AWS services and spend less time evaluating new tools, and more time scaling their use of products that are integrated or run on select AWS Services.
