HelpSystems (now Fortra) Partners with Ellucian to Bring JAMS to Higher Education Customers

Posted on April 8, 2019 | Automation

MINNEAPOLIS April 8, 2019Fortra today announced a partnership with Ellucian, a leading provider of software and services built to power higher education. The goal of the alliance is to enable higher education professionals using Banner® by Ellucian to apply Fortra’ automation solution, JAMS, to enhance efficiency and deliver high levels of service for students and applicants.

Banner is a full ERP suite used by higher education administrators, faculty, and students. The addition of JAMS automation to Banner processes that manage financial aid, student scheduling, and other activities delivers notable benefits for all involved. In particular, the powerful combination can significantly reduce workloads for short-staffed teams faced with data-intensive processes, tight timeframes, and restrictive budgets. In fact, it’s often impossible for colleges and universities to tackle this volume of work manually without the kind of job scheduling and workload automation JAMS provides.

“We are truly excited to be part of the Ellucian community and have a growing number of customers using JAMS to automate tasks within Banner,” said Scott McCausland, General Manager, Workload Automation, Fortra. “This partnership shows our commitment to higher education and to the hard-working professionals who need effective technology to create and maintain modern education enterprises.”

"We are thrilled to welcome Fortra to the Ellucian Partner Community," said Andrea Henry, Senior Director, Partnerships at Ellucian. "Fortra's workload automation solution, JAMS, enables joint customers to improve the service levels delivered to students, faculty, and staff.”

Fortra is currently exhibiting at Ellucian Live, taking place through April 10 in New Orleans. During the event, the Fortra team will engage with attendees on how to apply JAMS job scheduling and workload automation to current Banner tasks in an effort to simplify the way they approach their jobs.
