Mark Bell
Mark is a leading cybersecurity expert with a passion for world-class customer support and advocacy. He is responsible for providing business oversight and strategic direction for vulnerability management, penetration testing, black box fuzzing, and adversary simulation solutions, including the Digital Defense, Beyond Security, Core Security, Cobalt Strike and Outflank lines of business.
Mark joined Fortra in 2021 when the company acquired Digital Defense, a leader in vulnerability management and threat assessment solutions. He spent a total of 17 years in various roles with Digital Defense, most recently as its Executive Vice President of Operations. Mark previously worked at SAIC as a Senior Systems Engineer and Deputy Lead Technical Architect for the U.S. Air Force’s Vulnerability Lifecycle Management System (VLMS) Systems Engineering & Integration effort. Prior to 2000, he was a Senior Information Security Engineer for CSC, where he worked on the Air Force Information Warfare Center’s Computer Security Engineering Team. Mark served in active and reserve duty roles in the Air Force for more than 20 years before retiring in 2009.
Mark holds a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Hawaii Pacific University. He also holds PMP, CISSP, CISA, and CHSS certifications. Mark was recently awarded a patent for the development of a cyber defense training system that continues to be widely used in cyber defense security training and certification.
